I'm not saying he was super or anything (and yeah going wide top often) but he seemed to know how to move more with latter. In the former it was mainly being placed well in box few times but didn't get to touch the ball much. But there was the difference of us trying to kill time that made it easier to get more involved a bit.

Happy to see him score. Aside from Dybala, he was the signing I was most interested in seeing play this summer. Though I'd like to see him play with Dybala as an SS in a front 2.

It was impressive how he managed to move the ball in two directions with the same movement whilst sitting on his backside.
I may need to look at this goal again? 2 directions? Looked to me like he basically whiffed on his first attempt, then flicked out a second time in desperation from his backside, and watched it fortuitously roll into the goal at a top speed of 3 km/h.

:D

I thought he was more active up front, though. Pressed more, was more fluid in our build up with a couple nice backheels, etc. Seems to be getting a better understanding of his teammates movements.

And for me, he also just worked harder than he has in some of our matches (match fitness being the key there, probably).

Yeah he did make two movements but it was very subtle :D

I hate this guy so much mainly because he takes the place of a vastly superior one like Morata. I cannot stand anymore such limited players who score 5-10 tap-ins per season against minions and play like 1000 000 minutes....I simply don't believe we will score less goals and win less matches without him. I prefer to watch even the worst Morata...

Looks very unmotivated in general. I saw him come to life after his fluke goal, but so far he has been disappointing. Would like to see him do a little more justice to the #17.

Noticed that as well :D Pure poacher instinct.

I saw shades and glimpses of the player we all know he can be last night. If we get him fit and firing and hassling the fuck out of opposition defenders and chipping in with goals, our points tally will definitely improve.

I'm still not convinced

If he plays regularly, then

1.Morata continues to play outwide
Or
2.Dybala continues to get benched

His presence is causing tactical problems and it's not like he's in super form where these problems can be ignored.

I would still prefer to see Morata and Dybala lead the attack and Pereyra play the TQ role.
Would prefer to see him more as a rotation option.Hope Allegri is not forcing himself to play him because of his experience/price tag.

Mandzukic is simply not the player he used to be!
Yes he can score and he will always be able to if you give him the proper chance but he is like invisible unless being fed!
Right now I rate Morata Dybala and even Zaza more than I rate Mandzukic - He should be 4th pick IMO

I can't wait to see this guy getting his form back and finding his groove. Once he does it'll be him and Dybala up front with Pereyra behind.

Sooo many goals are on their way lads!

No it wont, that will never be our main attacking trio
Why? Morata might leave the upcoming summer, and we haven't taken up on Cuadrado option either. And if Pereyra and Dybala show the goods they can very well be starter material. A trio of Pereyra and Dybala behind Mandzo would actually work pretty well.

Sounds nice though, doesn't it. A motivated Mandzukic (who, by the way, is coming over Morata any day.
