To some degree I'd agree with turk there, Juventus or JJ or whatever you want to call it these days, has always kinda stood on the wrong side of the mainstream flow on how football is being played.
When other clubs are symbolized by the 2 "aliens", Salah, Robben, their type of players, here in JJ, we present this guy, Vidal, Chiellini type players as our symbols of excellence (you can throw Buffon in there as well).
It's not wrong, nor is there anything wrong with their ability or their careers... It's just that ultimately, like it or not, they're 2nd rate at best.
It's the Peles and the maradonas of this world that truly represent the pinnacles, and that happened not without reasons.
Even the pirlos of this world, aren't considered on that level.
So for JJ, to find our players that were on that level, we had to go back almost 30 years by now, with the late 90s version of ADP and ZZ...
When JJ as an institution as a whole, including the fans, places mandzu kind of players on pedestals, then is it any wonder that we enabled this 2nd coming of Allegri over there?
JJ normalized hanging on the ropes throughout matches with less than 40% ball possession and called it the grinta mantra, over glorifying players that were better at playing in that conditions while lacking at playing with the ball compared to what other clubs with the same ambitions usually have.
It's not wrong to call this kind of player as legends, but JJ need actual higher level footballing legends type of players, and coaches that can work with and develop that kind of players.
