Mario Mandzukic 14/15
43 games 20 goals 5 assists
Contract till 2018

This is a good deal.
I don't mind the numbers, but what's the logic on getting both him and zaza when u already have Morata, you'll have 30 mil sitting on the bench :boh:

Last year

Tevez,Llorente,Giovinco,Matri,Morata-3 CF's,2 SS's

This year potentially
Morata,Dybala,Mandzukic,Berardi,Zaza-3 CF's,2 SS's

Our starting XI attack's quality might have dropped but we have improved our overall depth.

How much did Giovinco/Matri play ? getting one of Zaza or Mandzu is ok in my books but not spending 30mil on two bench strikers when we have more pressing needs !!

Even a CM, like Vidal can score 12-13 league goals per season. Thats a typical number for supporting strikers, great number for central midfielders and bad number for finishers.
For me, a CF's main role if finishing, just like the Cbs main role is defending! Hybrids that are overall good, but have no specilization, have a tendency to fail in a tactically strict regime, like Juventus.
I dont rate much CFs that cant score and Cbs that cant defend.
Mandzukic is good with the ball for a man of his height and tall as he is, could be used as a target man tactically, but I feel that Morata has a better finishing instinct and should be prefered and I dont see him creative enough to offer what Tevez does and Dybala could do.
I see no sense at him replacing Tevez. Dybala will replace Tevez.
Mandzukitz could replace Llorente, in a Vucinic kind of way...

And lowered the average age by quite a margin.

Man i hope Tevez stays:

SS:
Tevez, Dybala, Berardi

CF:
Morata, Zaza

Actually he was a national socialist, but he was a good strategist.
Oh yeah, meant to slip in a "fanatical" there as well.

Still, why the hell is he your avatar? Because he was great at setting his people up to kill other people, and that for arguably the most destructive & inhumane regime in human history?

For 15 Mill it is a great transfer. An experienced striker that runs like a mad dog and presses the hell out of opponents. I recall how much trouble he used to cause with Bayern and how much damage he caused against us in particular.

He is not similar to Llorente in anyway other than the fact that he is very good in the air. He is much better with the ball, much more aggressive, much more of a workhorse and has very good predatory instincts.

Its a good buy even if Tevez stays. Tevez, Mandzukic, Morata, Dybala is a very good attack with a great mix of experience and young enthusiasm. All the big teams have several players that are very good upfront.

Madrid had Chicarito, Isco and Jese and that wasn't considered enough. Barca had Alexis and now have Pedro and they too are reinforcing the bench.

Chelsea is buying Falcao as a sub for Costa. You cannot have the quality of strikers drop from Tevez and Morata to Zaza. You also can't have your attack fully dependent on youngsters who are still uncertain like Morata and more importantly Dybala especially that your best player in attack is leaving. Mandzukic is costing us as much as Pereyra and he is one hell of a player.

Edit: Agreement between Juve and Atleti at €15 mill. Player wants €3.5 mill.

Juve are waiting to hear from Tevez before closing this deal.

GDM.
Yeah, that's a good deal for Mandzukic.

Clearly, whether Juve actually need Mandzukic is another matter.

The one thing that I would say is that I believe Morata-Mandzukic could work, provided they have a creative trequartista behind them.

It's worth remembering that Morata is not a typical centre-forward.

He may not be likely to pick a defence-splitting pass, as you'd like a creative forward to, but his dribbling ability means that playing him with Mandzukic would be a long way from playing Toni and Matri together, for instance.

Just being realistic bro.

Making an assessment of how we could potentially lineup next season.

Vidal will stay closer to Marchisio,Pogba will drift outwide on the left to combine with Asamoah/Evra,Dybala to provide width on the right along with the fullback.Morata to be deployed in a free role like Tevez and finally Mandzukic will be the poacher.

Anyone remember when Allegri early last season said he sees Morata as an SS ?

Iaquinta - Amauri :touched:

We have spent €30 mill on Dybala, will spend €30m on Zaza and Mandzukic.. €10m on Berardi. I doubt we'll spend a lot on a creative trequartista.

Yeah, I'm not expecting it.

I'm curious as to how Berardi would be used.
