They are both important players and our success this year has been directly tied with either of them being on the pitch. They give balance to our midfield. We can certainly make it without one of them at a time though as seen when one or the other have been absent during the course of the season.

By the way, we had a rough patch at the start of the season, but it would be shortsighted to put it solely on Khedira's absence. We had many problems overall. It just coincided.

we lost all of our games when both werent playing (except the Sevilla game when Marchisio was playing and Sami didn't). when either of them is playing alongside Pogba, doesn't matter who really, we are doing fine. we even looked better vs Bayern with Marchisio out, not that it has to indicate anything, just saying. point is, both are equally important for us this season and Marchisio has been slightly better overall, but not by much and in no way is one far behind the other
