When the likes of ALC and I are the best posters, you know it's gone to shit.

Good. I always questioned all the fapping over this Verratti guy even though he never played a single game in top flight.

Plus, midgets in midfield? probably not a good idea. Pogba to make you all forget about Verratti :D

Is there anyone on here that remembers the situation regarding Alessandro Del Piero arriving from Padova as a raw 18 year old in 1993.

With the Internet still a few years from becoming a widespread phenomenon, and therefore no fora such as Juventuz to complicate and confuse analysis about the benefits of acquiring someone relatively unknown, what was the reaction about his arrival?

He made his debut in September against Foggia as a sub and the scored his first goal - coming on as a sub - against Reggiana before scoring a hat-trick in his third match against Parma, his first start for Juventus.

In what way was he considered a risk prior to and just after his arrival in Summer 1993?

Is it even possible to draw comparisons between the potential that Del Piero showed at Padova and what Veratti has done at Pescara?

Clearly other factors come into consideration. The indigenous/existing squad that finished the 92/93 season and our current midfield/attacking options, where clearly different factors prevail.

I ask these questions because most people are making their opinions known on the basis something on the lines of " he won't get much playing time blah blah blah" intimating that he is a risky unknown at best and a potentially costly failure if he fails to have any impact on arrival.

We seem to have taken a decision to acquire Pogba based on his future potential, doubtlessly influenced by the fact that he arrived at no cost - apart from €500,000 in compensation to Manchester United - whereas it looks as though we ( that is the club) are unwilling to ponder the risk of €12m on someone who, it is universally agreed, has all the attributes to become a player of international class in the next 24 months.

actually this is a better summer, we can discuss transfers now instead of all this legal crap of 2006
I hated that, we still only know half the truth but nowadays we get a better vibe when we see us strenghtening our team while others seem to be losing ground
