“There are several clubs ahead of Juventus, including Milan,” Pescara director of sport Daniele Delli Carri told Tuttojuve.com.

“I don’t want to name the other sides, but there are some foreign ones too from the Premier League, Liga and Bundesliga.

“The Bianconeri want to sign the player, but the last approach from them was two months ago. There haven’t been any other calls since then.

“Verratti has always said he is a Juventus supporter and his intentions will of course be taken into consideration, but let’s remember we are not talking about a 28-year-old who can afford to accept Juve and turn down Inter or Milan, for example.

“He is 19 and is not in that position. I would like to underline that Pescara want to keep Verratti with us next season too.”

Oh my god, I can't believe that Veratti said such terrible things about Juventus, after he already tried to demand Ale's #10.

Plus now he's an Inter, and a Milan fan?

Fuck Veratti..?

:D

Hope we get this kid locked down!

It's funny how he name drops Milan, then refuses to mention anyone else.

Marotta has this guy in his back pocket, he's so desperate for Verratti to not support Juventus

Yeah, that's it, I think so too. The kid wants what he wants - plus he's behaving favorably to Pescara by potentially staying another year (although I suppose it's possible that could change if Zemen leaves? He'd probably still want to help out, either way.) - there's no reason to think he'll end up at Inter or Milan at this point. Just some very basic posturing - I'm sure they could use the cash sooner rather than later, so they can reinforce for their step up.

We offer 8, they want 12... give them 10, and let him stay there another year if he likes.

Buffon:"A Verratti auguro di venire alla Juve, non c'è società più prestigiosa"

Buffon: To Verratti I wish him to join Juve, there's no club more prestigious.

Oh Gawd, I knew this would happen once he was called up to the provisional Italian team. Fucking deluded club presidents.

maybe I should elaborate - this interview, and the exact same words, came from Pescara's president, Sebastiani, not Delli Cari in some presumed interview for the widely unknown tuttojuve.
Also for the conspiracy theorists around, iirc, Sebastiani mentioned Milan specifically only because the interviewer asked him about an interest from Milan, specifically, and then refused to name any other teams.

Aside from the journalist bs, everyone knows the ball is in Juve's court. Pescara can push it so far, but the will of players these days counts for a lot. Also, Juve are likely to allow a buy and loan back option, which suits Pescara. So they can try as many price bumping tactics as they want, but once the dust is settled with their season and the Euro 2012 squad negotiations will start to move. He has a price and there is no reason to pay above that.
