I think his call-up to the Euro's made things a lot more difficult.

Pescara don't want to sell until they know that Verratti has been called up or not to the last 23-man Italy NT squad. If he does get called up for the tournament, his price will increase and that's something Marotta and Agnelli have to discuss about dishing out.

Even if it's 10M, I think we should splash the cash.

Our lackluster methods at signing players is what kills us I think.

Sure, it comes down to money too but if you don't plan ahead before you attempt to sign a player then things will get difficult. Sometimes it feels like Marotta doesn't have a plan B in place when the initial plan takes a turn for the worse.

This is how we end up with Luca Toni. :D

I don't understand, if we buy him why should we loan him back to Pescara or anywhere else for that matter? I mean we've got prox 50 games to play next season and Pirlo sure as sh!t can't do that alone, and from what I saw of him at serie B (4-5 games) he's more than capable of filling in for Pirlo against some minnows. I mean do we have any other options if Pirlo gets injured or something?

Because first of all he needs to gain Serie A experience. We will have Pogba, probably Asamoah as well for the midfield and Marrone. One year in Pescara will benefit him.

Well Asamoah and Marrone are no deep lying registas like Pirlo, don't know about Pogba, let's see what happens then. Hopefully Conte has other plans for those situations too, cuz frankly I don't think next time we'll be as lucky as this season about Pirlo picking up injuries.

If he isn't going to play for us this season then there's no point in making the signing now, and using 10mil from our budget. We should try and work out some kind of deal with Pescara so he plays there for 1 more year and we get him after that.

Well...you can never trust those type of deals...Next year his price will at least double.

His price almost doubled just because he got himself in the provisional Italy squad and due to the fact that Pescara promoted. Imagine his price next year after a splendid Serie A campaign.
