He's built fairly solidly for someone of his height. He's better than most would think on the defensive side of the ball. He is not afraid to make challenges, but he needs to have better judgment as he matures on when to make said challenges

I'd never really thought about it before, I suppose he'd be fairly new to more athletic, disciplined players hunting him down in that deep role. Losing possession in your own half is obviously more serious than losing it in the opponents half, see how our defenders talk about the insurance that Pirlo offers them with retaining the ball, I don't really know. Giving Conte pre season to work things out would be a good idea.
