Ex-Juventus and Watford defender has reportedly signed for Charlton Athletic.

Sky Sport Italia claim the 29-year-old put pen to paper on a contract that will expire at the end of the season.

He was a free agent after the spell at Watford came to an end in July 2015 and was training with QPR to maintain his fitness levels.

Motta is well-travelled, having played for Atalanta, Juventus, Udinese, Torino, Roma, Catania, Bologna, Genoa and Watford.

from what i remember reading here back in 2014, we extended his contract with a reduced salary for an extra year to prevent losses (it was about to run out in 2015, the current one goes till 2016 and hes becoming a free agent in the summer). not 100% sure if this was him or a different player though
