He is one of the most exciting talents of Italian soccer in recent years, especially as a right-back. Marco Motta possesses several features: physical quality, technique, speed, endurance.
After an excellent first season with Atalanta, the full-back did not feature regularly in the next two campaigns following a move to Udinese. But he displayed his qualities in Turin with the Granata, making 24 Serie A appearances during his loan spell. Motta then returned to Udinese, experiencing a similar situation which led him to complete a move to Roma. It was a mixed year-and-a-half in the capital. He was popular with Spaletti, frequently involved in the first team throughout his first six months, but figured less under new manager Ranieri.
A fresh challenge came in the form of a switch to Juventus. On the international front, the defender was the captain of the Under-21s, also appearing in the 2007 and 2009 European Championships and the Beijing Olympic Games. He earned his first full international cap on 10th August 2010 against the Ivory Coast.
