We don't have to pay 5m to Udinese, though. We have an option to buy him for 3.75m.

So we could pay the 3.75 to Udinese (maybe even negotiate it to lower it down to 3m) and then buy Licht for 7m+Motta which in the current window will be equal to 10-10.75 million euro.

Papers in Italy say our offer at the moment is around 9mln while Lotito wants 10 (maybe that is our offer). On the other hand, I'm not sure we'd use him for Lich, I somehow don't see Lazio wanting Motta.

Imo, if we buy Motta it won't be just to use him in a money+player deal. It will mostly be as part of our attempt to work out a bigger deal with Udinese, which includes Sanchez or Inler.
We already have a bunch of youngsters and players like De Ceglie who are more than enough for the player exchange deals Marotta is working on. No need to buy Motta for 3.75 and then use him in a deal where he'll lower the price for 3.75m or less.
Even Marotta won't end up paying 11.25m to Udinese for Pepe and Motta without getting something bigger in return.

Minus wages of Motta. It's still the same thing, but I'd rather get rid of a crappy player than pay more for Lichtsteiner.
