Yes Molinaro is now clearly a better player than DC but when he played for Juventus he was tuuuuuurrible.

And nobody could predict at that time the extent to which DC would suck ass.

I disagree. During the 2008/09 season DC was yet to lower his reputation to the Molinaro level.

It might just be because he never got an extended run in the team that year but at that time I believed DC to be a better player.

Reputation and ability are different. I said back then that Molinaro was the better LB.

When they were both at Juve, Molinaro > De Ceglie.
completely agree with this.

Molinaro looked horrible everytime he went forward, as his passing was pisspoor, but defensively, he COULD tackle, and cover. He has some defensive talent. It was his distribution which was so applling before...De Ceglie, on the other hand, is fast, loves bobming up the wing, rarely looks up before crossing, but can deliver maybe 1 out of every 5 crosses, into dangerous areas...BUT, he CANNOT defend. his positioning, timing, tackling are all inferior to molinaro. Presently...For I still have not given up all hope that a decent manager and decent set of coaches could make de ceglie a decent player. My fear, is that like with caceres, he seemed, last season, to have no natural talent defensively. Too early to call on both those players.

You mention that De Ceglie is fast. I'd say Molinaro is at least as fast, possibly faster.
True , actually the only thing that i don't like about molinaro is his horrible crosses. Other than that the guy is a decent fullback (even his short passes and ball control are pretty decent)....

Molinaro fanboy in the house

Molinaro's crosses have improved in the Bundesliga. Maybe because they use the Jabulani balls :D

I believe we all did.

I don't remember DC being that fast at all. But it could be due to the fact that he looks a bit "clumsy" if I dear to say.:D
