and you act like we actually had a choice and could actually hand pick the players we want and would get them for a reasonable fee!
while diego might be a better trequartista then quag is a second striker it does not mean that we would have gained from diego played out of position (as second striker) more than playing quag in his position. you simply should not play someone that can't shoot as second striker. simple as that. fabio will do better than diego as second striker and think back when we had deschamps, then think back when we had ranieri ... in both cases we did not let them choose the players they wanted for their system and it backfired ... now would you rather buy fancy dribbling central attacking midfielders and tell the coach to shut up and take what he is given ? give del neri the players he needs for the system and wait a while. if we end up worse then last season, then you can blame del neri for it, but if you do not even supply the players for the coaches system you can forget it from day one, because you force a mediocre coach to tinker around with the formation, which will lead to even worse results as best possible with the mediocre coach.

I think that if a coach isn't able to adopt a certain system to adjust the players he already has is not a good coach, Juventus last season didn't have the players for a 4-4-2 nor a 4-3-1-2.
they point you are making is none, simply because you fail to accept that we are not juventus pre2006, but "any club without stability playing in europa league not looking like its going to get anytime better "... and this simply prevents us to be able to buy players at solid clubs where the players know that they will play champions league the next seasons
After all, your objective is to get better, right? and not just maintain EL standards.
You're putting it like if Juventus hasn't played CL for years while last 2 seasons you had CL football.
same was said about Olic but 11 goals and 6 assists 29 part-time matches is not bad for someone who does just run and is technically crap
you need someone that does the running for the others that can't or wont run. you can not have 3 centre forwards that just wait for the ball.
wait, wasn't we in the market for elia ? he has one bundesliga season in him and this season was not as hyper-good than diegos season and still you want us to pay more than we got for diego, for an unproven player that might struggle to adapt to serie a and even is tagged as a inconsistend player already ?
that would be more of a gamble than actually loaning 2 pepes ^^

And yes, i do believe that gambling with gifted but unproven players is better than buying proven average players.
But hey i'm not willing to keep discussing this as neither of us will change his opinion.
