Tudor picked him as captain, I'd imagine that may be a more likely reason. If he wasn't going to play him most games he obviously wouldn't be captain.

Think people need to stop this nationality thing, it's weird. Seems more like being offended that Italians play for an Italian team. These type of "coach's pet" players have existed for years and it's little to do with it. The sad state of affairs is really how few leaders or possible leaders the club has compared to years gone by. Loca would be a 4th or 5th captain at best.
