I get your point, hate towards him can be exaggerated at times, but have you ever considered that you and few others trying to hype and overrate mediocrity through selective stats and odd comparisons might be behind the overreaction of those(which are the larger majority) that do not rate him neither as a pillar of this team nor as a fit for captaining a club with the ambitions of Juventus?

Nobody said he is the worst ever at anything, he can be a decent backup and squad player, just not a leader and automatic starter in midfield when he is basic at everything and great at nothing.
There is so much in between hyping up and hating and somewhere in that big in between is obviously where I'm located on Loca.

Talking about our ambitions; it's top-4 and nothing more. Most of our fans are living in the past right now.

Of course he's an automatic starter as Pirlo, Motta, Tudor and Motta have shown. We just don't have anyone better right now.

Leader? Well, same thing basically... In the absence of bigger options; the question remains who'd be a better fit; who represents 'juventinita' more in this bunch?

You're not listening. Who's talking about selling him? He can be a good solid rotational/backup player but if we build the midfield around him, we are probably not going to win anything significant for the next few years. Why do you think the management is looking to sign Tonali?

And at 27 years old, how much do we realistically think he can improve? I want him to succeed but he's going on a Montolivo career trajectory atm. He's spent 4 years here and should've had an impact like Barella has for Inter's midfield but the gulf in class between both is huge atm.

Forget historic club standards, even by the current shitty Serie A standards, he's not even a top 8-10 midfielder atm.

I really hope the Tonali rumors are true because Locatelli as captain and leader of midfield would mean another half a decade of mediocrity.

It's a shame David Luiz dint work out but upgrading the midfield should be the priority this summer.
I am listening and I said we'd need to buy a complete new midfield before changing the only stable factor we had these years in midfield. I'd take fans shitting on Pjanic, Khedira and Matuidi any day 'though. Another example of how the historic standards only hurts our minds...

Barella comparisons when playing for scudetto winning and CL finals playing side are funny at best.

I do think both sides been exaggerating a bit with their takes, although there’s been times when it was warranted, but i also think some are just letting out their frustrations regarding the state of the club by pointing towards the biggest let downs of the team, and he is one of them, outside of a select few good games each season followed by longer periods of inconsistency, along with being even a liability in some other important games, therefore rewarding him for it will always generate tough reactions unless he steps it up and stays consistent.

That is where the views are off imo; he is pretty consistent in what he does and that is shielding the defence and simply being a channel the ball goes through. And that's why he's a starter for the 5th coach in a row now. Just don't expect him to be creative or whatever you want from him. It's also not abnormal to be overwhelmed here and there when your a defensive mid in this shitshow...

If we can upgrade, perfect. A club like ours should do better at some point but imo is there's much to be done before we should adress the Loca problem imo. Attack for one... Probably fullbacks a second.

I get it, but perhaps our expectations and definitions of consistent differs.

A mediocre players have a loyal fanboys these days. Insipid, bland or boring, I'd use to describe him. No wonder this club basks in mediocrity for years when various Mckennies, Locatellis get a pass.
McKennie's an absolute baller. You can see it in the way he moves and touches the ball. He was our best midfielder by far in the first half of the season. Now being outshinned by Thuram.

Loca can be very good, and well, not very good. There’s some problems with consistency. Potential is there, and it’s on display at times. Curious as to what Tudor can get out of him

Thought for sure a Alen post but will have to add you to the club. You're welcome! And surprisingly no "funny" reaction from the British anti-McKennie club member.

I dont fanboy mediocre players. Im use to seeing better players donning this shirt. I understand hes your guy, murican and all but he is not good enough to start. Simple as that. There is no anti mckennie club. Only dudes that evaluate players realistically, based on what we see week in week out. It is not my problem you dislike this. I dislike seeing this club drowning in mediocrity as like Ive said, Ive seen better during the years and wont reduce my standards.
