I think we've seen this season that when utilised properly in the right system he has a lot to offer.

Even Stevie was starting to come around to him at some point. Same problem with the entire club: inconsistency and a general lack of moral fibre.

He has such a great stats and overall play that surely top clubs already see it, we will struggle to keep him in the summer.
Guess what? Absolutely no one seem to be interested in best CM in Serie A/

He’s not even good enough to make the Italy squad. Generationally awful-Italy squad too. I don’t give a fuck if Barella and Tonali are good players…he can’t even get in over the likes of fuckin Ricci and Pisilli. He’s a jobber.

Nothing to do with brainwashing. He genuinely is not good enough to lead the midfield or captain the club. He's a water carrier at best.
The amount of hate he's getting is brainwashing at its finest. We'd need at least 3 new midfielders before thinking about selling Loca.

Historic club standards are of no use when assessing the situation today. If they would be and we'd have Deschamps, Nedved, Zidane, Davids and co., then yes by all means put him in the stands.

You're not listening. Who's talking about selling him? He can be a good solid rotational/backup player but if we build the midfield around him, we are probably not going to win anything significant for the next few years. Why do you think the management is looking to sign Tonali?

And at 27 years old, how much do we realistically think he can improve? I want him to succeed but he's going on a Montolivo career trajectory atm. He's spent 4 years here and should've had an impact like Barella has for Inter's midfield but the gulf in class between both is huge atm.

Forget historic club standards, even by the current shitty Serie A standards, he's not even a top 8-10 midfielder atm.

I really hope the Tonali rumors are true because Locatelli as captain and leader of midfield would mean another half a decade of mediocrity.

It's a shame David Luiz dint work out but upgrading the midfield should be the priority this summer.

Lets make it clear - Locatelli is way better than what 99% of this forum say. Yeah he is not Pirlo Vidal or even Marchisio but:
1. Team until now hasnt functioned properly and its not solely on Locatelli - In fact its more on the others than on him.
2. Locatelli actually does a very decent job defensively and when he is off our defense look more vulnerable

Its annoying to see the same posters make the same posts about Locatelli like he is our no`1 problem. Yeah he isnt a starter in the "Real Juve" but I can say it about anyone on this team except for Bremer who got an ACL at the start of the season.

Even Capello said it - Yildiz is the only one on the right level according to him and I`d go even further saying Im not sure Yildiz would be more than a Giovinco in our "Real Juve" era

A mediocre players have a loyal fanboys these days. Insipid, bland or boring, I'd use to describe him. No wonder this club basks in mediocrity for years when various Mckennies, Locatellis get a pass.

I get your point, hate towards him can be exaggerated at times, but have you ever considered that you and few others trying to hype and overrate mediocrity through selective stats and odd comparisons might be behind the overreaction of those(which are the larger majority) that do not rate him neither as a pillar of this team nor as a fit for captaining a club with the ambitions of Juventus?

Nobody said he is the worst ever at anything, he can be a decent backup and squad player, just not a leader and automatic starter in midfield when he is basic at everything and great at nothing.

just pulling your legs. my opinion on loca haven't changed throughout the years

pirlo -> pjanic -> locatelli

that would be my best bet to summarize the downfall from 2015 to 2023 in the shortest possible way. and i'm not even hating the guy. he's just not a very good regista.
his defensive game isn't too bad usually, his workrate has been fine too recently. both let him down today

for me his forward passing is the biggest disappointment though. such a downgrade on pjanic. and he was a level below pirlo himself. and that's probably the most important position in juventus since conte took over. like bentancur never left.
from pirlo and pjanic to this:

the fact that this guy is a starter, let alone the captain of the team is easily one of the most glaring symptoms of juve's downfall
