This guy peaked at euro 21 or what was it called for a month. Thats it.

There are always players like that.
He scored two average goals against shit teams in that tournament he wasn't even a regular starter. Iirc he only played due to someone else being injured.

So his performances in the Euros were completely over rated.

He has never been anything more than average

Shittiest player. Milan was smart to ship him, we were dumb to pay 40 milion and started building 2-3 projects with him being the center. Now he's even a Captain.

Sasuolo level player. The brother of Montolivo
Montolivo used to play a starter for Milan while milan was at their worst. And he is playing a starter for Juve when we are at our worst. So many shitty similarities.

Must be sold first thing in the summer or terminate his contract. If he stays the next season we will fail even if our coach is prime Del Bosque. He has a pussy mentality, is physicaly and tactically weak. Has no leadership capabilities.

Manuel Locatelli said this after the 3-1 defeat against PSV :

“It hurts because we had it in our hands and we threw away a qualification. We are all responsible, now we have to unite and get out of this situation. An explanation? I don't have one now. They played better than us and wanted to qualify more: the pitch always speaks, the rest is just chatter. We have to look each other in the eye and understand what the problems were”.

Manuel Locatelli: "Defeat hurts. Today, they wanted and deserved the victory more than we did. We need to look ourselves in the face and take responsibility. They controlled the game, and we couldn't catch up to them. We definitely need to do better." #Juventus

Montolivo comparisons make sense now

I've defended him in the past but enough is enough now

Weak and timid player

I doubt we get rid of him though as he holds dat all important Italien passport

Bar Thuram, our midfield is looking real poor right now

Any Juventus player that comes out and says that the opponents wanted to win a game of football more than them should not be a Juventus player.

Having said that what he said is absolutely factual.

Pedestrian at best....him being captain epitomises the shit state this club is in at the moment.

Bar those 2 games at the euro21, i have never seen him play a great game since.

Wouldnt start in any of the great teams under lippi, conte an allegri v.1 ...yet he is captain!

He had some good performances at the start of the season. Which timed nicely with Thuram settling in and finding his feet.

But in recent months the form has gone and there is no reason he should be starting ahead of Thuram. That's on Motta.
I've noticed his role change. Again. We finally found a style that got the best out of him and then changed everything up.

I'm not clever enough to really spot what it is, but I have noticed he's not been dropping into the centre of the CBs. The fullbacks are pushing up one at a time following the ball instead of it being a tactical positioning choice that they both move up the pitch.

I don't know if it's the arrival of Muani that meant or allowed for this change (Motta sees him as less of a target man for long balls?) or if it's that Motta has more confidence in Veiga than Kalulu, or could it be he likes Veiga's long passing so Locatelli wasn't needed so deep?

Whatever the reason for the change we've been winning games and looking better (until the other night) so I'm happy and agree he's not been good enough during this spell of wins to start even though I obviously like and rate him.

But he tackles well

that is the ONLY thing I recall people say about him when they defended him

clearly those tackles have propelled the team to new heights
