Loca has been decent enough for us. Clearly limited...never going to offer the creative flair of pirlo and i dont think any of us thought he ever would. But is solid enough defensively for us and we need that. As per other posts..you need a mix of midfielders. I even think thuram is good enough..young and still finding his feet but has potential to be important for us. The key issue is koop...he is meant to be the man pulling the strings offensively and it isnt working. Motta needs to find the magic formula for that midfield. We have several midfielders and he hasnt been able to find which work best. In addition, to be fair to motta, koop missed many games and arrived at the 11th hour, luiz has basically retired, even the likes of an adzic has been injured...so it hasnt been an ideal situation.

Reminds me of Ambrosini. Thats his ceiling. Good defensively but will offer nothing from a creative standpoint.

Koop/David Luiz were supposed to be the playmakers but they have been super disappointing so far.

Great compilation, hopefully other clubs in need of a ball playing CDM will see it too, because based on stats it says he lost possesion 11 times vs Lecce, had also about 10 unsuccessful passes along with two long balls that were also misplaced, but you won’t see any of it in this kind of clips ofc.

I like 4 forward passes for the whole game:touched:

Except that Ambrosini is way way way much better.
Yes ambrosini was better and played for one of the best milan teams ever...but he had a combo of the likes of pirlo gattuso and seedorf around him and rui costa/kaka doing the offensive work. So let's be fair here...we know what we get with loca...lets wait for motta to figure out the rest of that midfield and make them all complement each other.

People complaining that we needed a more attacking player in the midfield. Like it's only wingers or goal-scoring box to box who are deemed attacking for some reason, lol.

The above stats prove he's an attacking minded midfielder, someone who often starts the attacks and moves the ball forward. He's exactly what we need.

Indeed very limited offensively and a master of the sideways/backward pass. Funny I see his passing accuracy career high over 90%. It makes sense.

His brief Euro scoring brilliance I guess fooled us all. Without question a plus defensively but damn Motta has to find someone along side to create scoring changes. I like Thurman too.

Those two games in the euro were his best two ever. This is on motta now...koop was brought in for creativity.

I can very safely say that Koop isn't a creative #10 though. At least not like the Ozil / David Silva types.

His role at Atalanta was a MC/AMC hybrid in a 3-4-2-1 iirc

Just looking up previous seasons stats shows Koop was more goal scorer than assist man. Could be right about him but don't see why he can't become more of an assist guy believing more potential goal scorers at Juve.
