If we can still get him for 40M after the Euros then our ties with Sassuolo must really be very strong. 40M is a steal. Either way, we shouldn't try to nickel and dime on this one. If Sassuolo say 50-60M that might be quite fair.

did he had any other offers? or we are the only ones willing to invest our entire budget and our future on him?
Should we include dragusin, we must include a buy back clause, as he has the potential to become much better.
besides its much easier to find Mediocre CMs, than decent CBs
Failing to introduce a buy back clause for dragusin, we should opt, for a future sale profit percentage

Maybe Cherubini is not so bad after all

We literally have zero actual defensive midfielders (who are also comfortable on the ball). All we have is box-to-box runners and Arthur, whatever you like to call him but he's not a DM. And as Allegri would tell you; everything starts with a good base. Then also add the creative midfielder.
Rabbiot is comfortable with the ball, Locatelli is not quite a ZZ. He is also better defensively, faster over all, esp when going forward.
Between him, Arthur and Bentacour we already have all the characteristics Locatelli has.
Yet our only creative option is Ramsey and he is never there.
Replacing Ramsey ought to be our priority, rather than replacing Arthur + Rabbiot + Benta, esp while keeping them and keep paying them millions.
Lets not pretend we dont know whats happening here, the only reasons we are buying Locatelli are nationalistics,
as a player he adds nothing!
Whats worse is that he comes at the expense of true and actual needs we have (replacing Ramsey)

Rabiot comfortable on the ball, as is Arthur and Bentancur offers defensive power but none of them offers the package Locatelli does. None of them. The rest is bullshit.

We have creativity with Kulu, Chiesa and Dybi and I'd like another CM but we need the ability to feed them

Get Locatelli and sell Bentancur, problem solved
