I think you have to observe how a particular game is being played. This one is going to be different from the last, since people are really quiet so far. Or maybe it's because the paranoia hasn't kicked in yet

My tactic on day 1, usually, is to vote for the newbies or Sheik&Janna. These players react in a different way when they are put in danger of being lynched, compared to the more experienced members. You can usually find out their role from the way they defend themselves. Even more, if the player in danger is a G, it tells us even more. Unfortunately we completely failed to capitalize on Janna's lynching in the previous game. I still can't understand why Fred, Deneb and I didn't go after Fresh directly on day 2.
