Jasper is following the rules as he should be. The BG can't protect himself if he asked too late, lawyer can't save either, and D can't investigate or gunblaze if he misses the deadline. It's called a deadline for a reason. You miss it, you do it in time for next day.

That is correct, but how would the CC receive the investigation result when he's already dead after deadline? It has nothing to do with the when he informed Ford that he wants to snoop.

If it's in the rules, then ok, but the crooked cop's investigation shouldn't be that tightly connected with the deadline, imo. Yes, it's vital if the BG, jailer, lawyer do it before deadline. More or less it's the same for the D. But the CC simply finds out what did someone else do, and the deadline here isn't that important.

If it's in the rules then Jasper did fine. But for the future games a change in the rules could be considered.
