That makes no sense though. Even from the "story" point of view. How can a guy investigate someone when he is behind the bars. Well, he can't :p.
He can if the D is jailed after he had already sent who does he want to investigate before. The investigation result is given after voting deadline, so the person who is jailed is free. The narrator does not give the investigation result only when the D is killed, like what has happened with Maddy the night we killed Fred.

The detective selects his target before the voting is over (daytime) and receives an investigation info during nighttime, right?

From the faq thread:
Jailer: The Jailer has the option of imprisoning one person for a whole day and night. They will send the narrators their target before 18.00 CET and that person will be subsequently imprisoned for the day (until 18.00 CET next day).
This would mean that the imprisoned Detective would be unable to receive his investigation info, because he would be in jail during nightime.
The way we are playing it, the person that is in jail goes out after the voting (daytime) is over, so the jail is empty during nightime. Either we follow the rules or finally update the 'mafia for dummies' thread.

That bit of the rules is wrong/missunderstanding, the one who is jailed is released after deadline that first day's night, not 24 hours later in 2nd day. Clarified this in previous games and we done this correctly, just not changed that bit in the post it seems (only mods can do it).

- Bragging. Typical you.
This is the only one of Fred's posts I thought was a rather clear mistake :D Otherwise, excellent game of him, though I probably have underestimated the chances of him getting whacked. I mean I knew that he had higher chances than your average player, so not 1/10 but more 1/5-6, but they were probably even higher. In this sense and in hindsight, I probably made a mistake and should have protected Fred. However, @king Ale, I still do not think that this can be put as a general rule. Had the D in this game for example not been Fred, but let's say Salvo or Enron, protecting myself would've made the most sense imo.

And there's no way anyone can consider this a G win :howler:. Even if j0ker had been lynched the last day, it would've been 6:3, and Maddy & X would've been the next ones for sure.

Yep, confused me a bit when I narrated one. The rule thread needs to get updated badly.

@Fred

We knew Hoori can't be the D because she was jailed on day 1 and the investigation took place anyway.
:sergio: I never thought of that.

Yeah, early in the day it was between joker, enron, salvo and fred as I recall.

As the day went on Fred became more and more clear.

Despite the slight doubt there always is there, I had the impression we were pretty confident Fred was the D.

I did send the whack 30 minutes before deadline as I recall.

Just found an early PM from the day we whacked Fred :D
Fuckers :D

If I weren't a D, I'd have loved to join that team of yours though, one of the best things ever is getting recruited, I was recruited once in one of the old games, that was ace :p

Remember I told you when you were going to make the Klin announcement I was going to disappear, I should have stuck with that strategy. Instead I got a rush of blood, and decided to try a bit of reverse psychology which obviously those fuckers didn't fall for. :sergio:

This game had the advantage of the G's having very good players and a really good team, and the special roles, the important ones at least falling to experienced players as well. Its too bad people weren't active, I really thought this game had the potential to be one of the best.

Oh and btw, as a normal C, sometimes you make very good arguments and do well in general to avoid all the paranoia, but still get lynched because of other people's paranoia. Thats what happened to you, iirc you were the only one to suspect X, you also made very good point on Soren's reaction, you were completely right about Joker and you were right about Klin too on the day he got lynched before Ocelot outed him. So in hindsight you actually did very well, but as a normal C, sometimes that doesn't matter and you get lynched just because you make very good points :D

I always overestimate everyone ask Alen :D I always think there are elaborate conspiracies behind every small action. But I have to say, you guys didn't fall for the reverse psychology, I thought Hoori must have been a G when you guys got me. I've said it before, but really kudos for seeing through all the bullshit. You show me those posts that made you guys know I was the D, on another day and with other people they could have easily thought a D couldn't be this bold in the last hours, and go for Hoori instead.
Soren oh Soren

The reason why I thought he was a C was his reaction to what Ocelot said about the D (I remembered he said that the D had not contacted him yet at that point suggesting that he/she must be one of the less active players, and Soren said "you are helping the Gs figure him out" or something along those lines). My intention was never to find the detective obviously, so I didn't pay much attention to it and I was hesitant to repeat it in case it was indeed going to help the Gs figure the D out. When I finally decided to say that in "public", that ass Soren [:p] said "don't lie, I never said that":wth::sergio:

So the D can use his powers if he's jailed as long as he sends his target beforehand?
