Juve And Spurs Want Podolski

With three goals during Euro 2008, Lukas Podolski has certainly grabbed the attention. Reports from Germany are claiming that the interest of Italian giants Juventus and Premiership side Tottenham has been particularly awoken.

Podolski, who has struggled to cement a place in the Bayern starting line-up during his first two seasons at the club told the Kölner Express: “I have been informed of the interest from other clubs. That is very interesting for me.”

The 23 year old was limited to being third choice striker last season behind Bundesliga leading scorer Luca Toni and Miroslav Klose and with Bayern reportedly flirting with a move for Mario Gomez, competition for places at the Allianz Arena could be about to hot up even more.

According to reports Spurs have already made an offer of €20 million for Podolski. With Dimitar Berbatov not guaranteed to stay in North London, Poldi could well be being lined up as a direct replacement.

Turin giants Juventus are also reported as being very close to making an official approach.

Podolski joined Bayern after the 2006 World Cup and has made 98 Bundesliga appearances for the Bavarians scoring 31 goals in the process.

For the national team he has scored 28 goals in 51 games.

Has has looked great on the wing for Germany but that's what we have Giovinco for. A central midfielder is the priority.

I wouldn't cry if we got him, though.

Amauri (Trezeguet)
Podolski (Nedved) - Del Piero (Giovinco) - Camoranesi (Iaquinta)

Hmm...

I seem to remember him being frequently injured for Bayern...dont know how much that'll help our cause...and he hasn't really shined since his move...

He's playing really well for the national team...
and I do like his play, quick, strong shot and good finish though

no to podolski. He's a good player but first of all, he's NOT needed at all. he's a striker, even if he plays some idiotic position in the midfield for the german NT right now. And we don't need a striker. Full stop. There's no way we will buy another striker. If that whole 'trez-selling' comes up again, well then aim for huntelaar, he's like the perfect heir to trez, not podolski. Poldi made everything wrong when he moved to bayern. I'd go as far as to say that they ruined his career. At St. Pauli, he played excellent football, scored from everywhere. That was (in my opinion) because he could pretty much do what he wanted up front. In Bayern, where he was pushed into a more strict system, he got lost immediately and then he finished on the bench for months. I feel bad for him now, but he should not have gone for the money. I imagine him in the EPL though...

just look at his career at bayern. he was, is and will be a benchwarmer.

He´s talented, no doubts, but he is not good enough.

No to Podolski. Our attack is great, if we sold Trez, than Lukas definitely isn't the man. Furthermore, I don't see him leaving as Klinsmann likes him a lot.

BS rumour, in recent time we are linked to Podolski, Quagliarela, Huntelaar and even David Villa and it's obvius that those rumours are BS, since we all know that we already have maybe even to many strikers.

NO! Just because he scored couple of goals in Euro 2008 doesnt mean that Juve needs him! Plus our priority should be buying a center back! All other positions are covered!!

TBH I dont feel neither strongly for or against this. Probably because I know nothing will ever materialise concerning us and him.

he played for "1.FC Köln" (Cologne) before joining Munich and that was a second division club ... so being the star in a 2nd division club does not show much. in munich he never got a foot in the starting eleven, when everybody was fit ...

furthermore he really seems to be kind of stupid ... i don't know if he would be able to learn any tactics if that was needed ...

Torres did it and it showed a lot.
Everything else I agree with you. His pace would be the only good thing he would bring to the team.
