Actually, I'm not sure that's entirely fair.
He is accustomed to dealing with a different standing of player to what he has at Juve, and he had Samp very motivated last season.
What is does not seem able to do is motivate a bunch of wasters who think they have made it because they have signed a nice contract at Juventus, so they don't need to work any more.
He should probably do better, but I put most of the blame on the players for not being motivated.

A world class coach is able to motivate any player. Look at Mourinho. Del Neri was able to motivate a bunch of journeymen @ Chievo, as well as a some average players and a couple of fallen stars with something to prove @ Samp.
A top coach demands respect and earns it. Del Neri has never won anything in his career, and for some players he doesn't warrant that respect. He is not meant for a big club.

The best coaches have a vision and a number of common systems. DN only has the disjointed 442. We cant even employ the 442 properly.
He has had his chance. Universal agreement that he needs to leave in the summer however I have a horrible feelin 'we' may have a couple of decent games and DN may actually be retained for next season.

Marotta and DN made a contract with our club that they will be given at least 2 years, to try and prove their worth in the highest level.
Thats why they are both confident that things will go better in the future for them. Of course they dont realize that their incompetence cannot be tolerated by foreign fans,
why would they, if the Italian fans are ok with Italian mediocrity and the clueless owners only intend to milk Juve's name with minimum investments and as long as possible
and then probably sell the team off when its going to be completely worthless.

Now, if the board feels that the fans are sleeping from their grasp, they will convert them into scapegoats and pay them for the agreed price, a strategy they have used so many times in the past years and the Juve fans swallow it eagerly...

Now, is it our interest to change a mediocre coach for another mediocre coach, just to waste one more year, so that our owners milk Juve's jersey some more?

The past 5-7 years have proven that we dont intend to upgrade this team to the Milan clubs level. So i only hope for the option that expose Agnelli the most and force them to sell our club to someone who cares and is capable to offer to this once great club, what it really needs...

That's just stupidity, Cron. I don't think our owner needs to milk anything, he is already wealthy beyond all of our wildest dreams and what makes you think a new good coach wouldn't "be allowed" to build a competitive team? You sure as hell don't know that and this IS the team DN wanted to build, it just isn't good enough. Get a coach that wants good players and I am sure the club will get the players.
