This team is rudderless. Not that it has immense talent, but there's some talent there. Enough to do better than 7th place in crappy Serie A, that's for sure.

When you have immense talent, you often don't need much of a coach sometimes. Let the players play on the pitch. In our case, we have a coach that is sucking the oxygen out of the room from our players.

Given that, I'd rather have less talented players and a strong coach who can at least offer direction and strategy (something Del Neri knows nothing about) and players who will execute against that with their faith in him.

There's no faith in Del Neri on this team, and there shouldn't be. There's no faith in themselves either.
Some of the tactical issues are, but there are deeper rooted problems.

There is a malaise at the club that seems to have swallowed much of the club. You only have to look at the deterioration of someone like Aquilani (or how good a mediocre player like Candreva looked when he joined last season).

Even Buffon and Chiellini seem to be falling into the trap.

The only solution, as far as I can see, is to get a coach with a big, dominant personality and a couple of players with a similarly strong mentality.

Juve used to be okay because they had Buffon, Chiellini, Nedved, Camoranesi, Zanetti, Del Piero and Trezeguet, who could all be trusted.

Now there are pansies like Aquilani meandering around the pitch like lost souls.

People will look at technical ability (as they always do), but getting players with the right mentality is more important.

Who, apart from Del Piero and Chiellini, of the current players will try to take control of a game when things aren't going well?

Melo may be an exception, but most of them just disappear.
Wise words mates and I completely agree with them.

I think the Chievo game just showed the issues with this team ( and a bit with the Zaccheroni team before it). We control a game because we have the better players but then the tactical positioning of the players fails and we concede one. So they panic and concede another. When we have an advantage we don't know how to finish a team off and when we concede the better players try to do everything because they don't trust the people around them.

The manager does not know how instill the tactical awareness in the players and the bigger players obviously don't listen to him.

The pansies you mentioned are not only Aquilani but even players like Bonnuci and Motta. No personality whatsoever, and sickening. The team is in utter shit and I see them clapping for eachother when a pass goes astray!

That doesn't add up, if the place shifts from 7th to 6th.
How many teams make the EL? 5th, 6th and 7th place? And if Palermo wins, is it just 5th and 6th?

Oh and I really believe that the best thing for Juve next year is to be out of the EL all together. Its a waste of a tournament anyway and its worthless. It only gets our players tired for important Serie A games. I would actually take Juve out of Coppa Italia as well. The only thing that matters is the Scudetto and reaching a CL spot.

Even if we want to focus on Serie A and reaching CL next year, it would still be nice to reach EL. We can always play our reserves and primavera players like Lille did this year. + extra money for more/better signings.

Since Inter have already qualified for CL Palermo qualify for EL anyway so it's just 5th & 6th

He simply cannot be anymore deluded. He is serioulsy happy if we come 7th and miss out on a European spot? Words fail me. I am absolutely livid that this guy gets away with making these disgusting comments week in week out,

Typical stubborn Italian manager, cannot see his (many) faults. And once I again, I have this horrible feeling this guy will be confirmed as our manager for next season.

Del Neri defiant on Juve bench
Juventus might not qualify for Europe at all, but Gigi Del Neri remains defiant. “Nobody can teach me my job. We’ve done good things this season.”

The Bianconeri’s 2-2 draw with Chievo ruled them out of the race for a Champions League spot, but they are still in seventh place and only the top six go into Europe.

“I was pleased to hear patron John Elkann show his support, as he has clearly evaluated the effort I always put in to my work,” insisted the Coach.

“I have never regretted my decisions and nobody can teach me my job. We have done some good things this season, as don’t forget we are the team with the least defeats behind Milan and Inter.

“It’s true we drew many games as well, but three draws or three wins cannot change the judgment on an overall campaign’s work. It would be banal.

“We have completely rebuilt the squad that we started with in July and big changes do lead to big difficulties. People said I’d find it difficult to lead a group of champions, but that was not the case and I’m happy with the rapport we’ve forged.”

Juventus face Parma on Sunday with a decimated squad. Milos Krasic and Claudio Marchisio are both suspended, with Alberto Aquilani and Armand Traoré major doubts.

Leandro Rinaudo, Momo Sissoko, Fabio Quagliarella, Vincenzo Iaquinta and Zdenek Grygera are definitely out of action.

“Having Aquilani would be important as an extra alternative to use during the game. We’ve done everything we had to in order to face Parma with the right spark.”

Provincial mentality. If we don't sack him soon, I will go nuts.

In his own mind he can do no wrong.

No one can teach the great Delneri, the former manager of such prestigious teams as Pro Gorizia, Nocerina and Ternana and the winner of the coveted Serie C2 competition. He has no faults and he is the prototype of the perfect manager.

The jeers will turn into applause y'know?!

Vattene!

Poor manager - Poor management except Nedved.

100% confident delnever will be in charge next season with his lovers marotta, agnelli and elkann.
Management are just as bad as the manager, hope moggi comes back in summer and fires them all except nedved and gets lippi or capello back.
