We're barely out of pre-season. Whether or not he can still cut it at the highest levels is something that still remains to be seen. Too early to conclude.

Yeh is pretty early... but well, him coming from merda and being the player he is doesnt help much.

Obviously he still has alot to prove... but so far, he has commited too many mistakes for a player of his magnitude.

Because of that people are mad.

Too much logic in this post.

But I disagree regardless. It's much more wise to write off players in pre season :agree:
Its a strange paradox.

Here we have members already writing off Lucio, a seasoned and well-decorated vet.

And then you have members (like me) who claim youth players as the next coming of the "old guard".

:D

Lucio was never much good.

People will realise this more now when they will be watching him more and with a more critical eye.

I've never been a massive fan, but his trophy list as a first choice defender with several different teams is very impressive. Does he just land in the right places at the right time, or is he underestimated?

List some more stats.

That's bound to change my mind and suddenly make me think he's good after watching him for years and thinking he's little more than an athletic idiot.

And he's not even very athletic these days.

If you don't care abouts stats it's only mean that you don't understand football at all, what stats do you need from me? Lucio was/is one of the best CB in the past 10 years, do you agree with me?

I do not.

I also think it is poor form to suggest, on such a subjective matter, that someone lacks understanding just because they disagree with you.

I bet you don't believe in youtube videos too?

And his achievements are not saying a lot too ?

In the 2006 FIFA World Cup, he set a FIFA-record by playing 386 consecutive minutes without committing a foul.

So he was/is overrated by coaches like Toppmöller, Scolari, Mourinho, Conte, Magath, Hitzfield etc. ofc cause they don't understand football like you, Red

I certainly do not pay attention to youtube videos because you can make players look just exactly as good or as bad as you want to.

And as for his list of trophies, one only has to note that Busquets may well end up one of the most decorated players ever to see that that isn't necessarily a great indicator of individual ability.
