Johnson is a dwarf of a right-back - he'll never play in the middle. Bridge is a left-back, and only a left-back, while I've not seen Stanic play in defence, ever - besides which, he's quite old now.

Terry, Desailly, Gallas and Huth are their four central defenders, with Melchiot filling in there in an emergency. Huth is too inexperienced, Desailly is fading badly, and Gallas and Terry are very good, but not world class yet (if they'll ever be).

Another central defender is very high on Chelsea's list of priorities.

Yes he has, and he looks to be a very likely transfer target in the summer. I'd rate him over Lucio anyway, but Lucio's more fun to watch! :D

Either way, get over it - Chelsea will buy players, very good ones at that, but they'll be linked to a hundred times as many as they can, or will, actually buy.
