I think the case of Marrone can easily be compared to Marchisio. Let him develope away and bring him back when he's still young (25-26) and let him slide into his position in the squad. Pirlo won't be around forever and I believe Marrone can easily be that occasional starter in midfield to late-game sub when our starters can be pulled off the pitch. He can fulfill a role similar to Pogba last year where he will get spot starts and 25-30 minutes at the end of our games.
Miss this kid, he showed glimpses of what he is capable of, and we all got an insight into his potential during the 11/12 season, shame Conte decided to shunt him to CB as a 'vice Bonny' last season; in saying that, one can only hope the experience can/has improved the defensive elements of his game. Lest I mention that he has been a midfield fulcrum of the Italian youth sides along with Florenzi and Verratti; we should definitely part ways with Padoin and use Marrone more, in the end RB is covered with Caceres, Licht and Isla, thus Padoin is a waste of bench space and salary.
Padoin can play as CM too... but i agree... i'd rather field Marrone than padoin... but i think that Padoin accepts his limited playing time, while Marrone is 23 and he wants to play as much as possible...
I'd sub padoin for his other half in a heartbeat though..
next season him and F. Rossi should both be back here. we see now that we lack not 1 but 2 good CM for rotation. if they were in the squad currently i guess the would both play against catania (Pogba, Marchisio out, Vidal, Pirlo need some rest)...
well, one of them would be nice atleast. add to that an experienced old player like Pizarro (his contract ends in 2014 summer ) who is good with playing 10-15 games a season and im OK.
I prefer Juve to sell abroad assuming Marrone still left an impression with his performances in CL for Juve, that way there will be space for the likes of Appelt, Rossi, Buchel or other Juve youth to be considered by the likes of Cagliari or Udinese.
