i think on one occation he missed the celtic player in the middle, when samaras made the cross
and that had been a very dangerous chance to goal..

Stick Lichsteiner in place of Padoin and that cross wouldn't have been made...

Thought he did excellently at CB last night. Must admit that I was slightly nervous because he was playing in such a big game in a position that we are slowly converting him into but he handled himself very well.

Main difference last night to some of his previous outings a CB was that he appeared much more willing to really try and physically impose himself and shove people around.

Can barely remember him showing any inclination to use his fairly powerful physique to his advantage in previous games.

Could be he was tentative to do in that in that area of the pitch where he might potentially foul someone in. Rather than go hard in 1v1's he might have been less reluctant for fear of giving away a foul in the wrong area of the pitch.

New position like that he needs to get confident in the role and less fearful of making mistakes. Thought he did well, but yet, looked more aggressive in the role than he has in past games as a CB.
