With the hot headed players we have, I bet Melo and Chiellini will be the first two to have problem with him, they will probably be soled before the season ends, and specially Melo :D
We have a lack of hot-headed, overly passionate players, not a surplus. Other than Melo and Chiellini, nobody else in the squad as a whole has shown me any true zeal this season. Yes, I see Marchisio serious, and eager, but as an opponent I would never be fearful of facing in a tackle ANY of our players other than Chiellini and Melo. That counts for a lot in football...the FEAR factor. Our squad needs sharper teeth...any manager should see that and address it. More fire the bellies please, not less.

as for VG, from my knowledge of the man, yes he is an arrogant Kunt, who enjoys confrontations that he will always win as the Boss, but winning is what drives him, not the submission and cowing of his players. Discipline and passion and tactical fluidity.

I doubt he would sell Melo, since he has been our most consistent player this season. Neither Giorgio. Managers who win titles rarely have a tendency to sell a clubs very best players...

Bonucci is kinda hot headed too..

But sure I agree with you about the rest, for that I see him a better option than the ones we mentioned. We definitely need that discipline in the club.

A bit of both I'd say. I think we've met him but I don't know if the meetings have reached the kind of intense levels that were being made to blv by the media. Just initial contact viz a vis, flying down to torino to sign on the dotted line with a list of wanted players and assistants.

Not sure if vGaal is still candidate for manager, but if it's up to him, I don't think he would bring in a player like Pirlo. Van Gaal doesn't care about names and could easily put him on the bench like he did with (older) players like Klose, Demichelis, Tymoschuk, Toni etc. He also preferred Olic over Gomez, who Bayern just paid 35M for while Olic was free.

It's more likely that someone like Ancelotti would request Pirlo, or Marotta just don't think about what our next coach would like and just buys whatever he wants. :shifty:

the part i put in bold, makes me now...more interested in signing Van Gaal, than of any interest in the players we sign and sell afterwards. Yes, there is an obvious inference of something dangerously cavalier...which makes me smile, but could make me seriously depressed in the long term, if that is simply...all he proved to be...dangerously cavalier...putting DP in the primavera...dropping marchisio and recalling and playing pasquato on the left wing...actually that would be wicked. at least the marchisio swap.

More than worrying, I find such words to be exactly what we need. A manager who picks players solely on how useful they will be to the aim of winning. Regardless of their name, and more importantly, their age.

i see van gaal, as more powerful than any other manager position of the team, including transfers. and this would make a massive difference. if marotta signs a player van gaal doesnt like, he wont play him. and rightly so. that is obvious. and its about fucking time we had a manager of our team, the same caretaker, guide, fatherfigure, of the squad spirit, the squad tactics, training and direction who was also directly responsible for bringing new players into the family, and also realeasing them.

Take Diego for example...can you imagine Diego playing for Ferguson...or Capello...or Mourinho...or Wenger...and seeing his manager state in the press that you will be part of his plans, then a week later, been told by the club you are sold to wolfsburg??? If i was a player in that squad i would instantly see delneri as weak, and marotta as The Real Boss...this Real Boss character, MUST be the manager of the team. What zeal for the cause can we expect and demand from our players, when the person who decides their future at the club, isnt their manager, who trains them, eats with them, advises them, deploys them, but actually...a man who always wears a suit, deals in nothing but numbers, and has likely never played a competitive game of football in his life??? It would certainly make a player with some established quality consider his options come Summer.

If I was Melo, for example, I would jump at the chance of playing for Wenger in the Premiership...I hope he doesn't. And doubt the club need to try hard to keep him, other than NOT encouraging discussion of interest from other clubs...but what incentive is there for Melo to stay???? Our other players of occassional or definite class, DP, Buffon, CHiellini...are tied to the club, either by age and a lengthy love affair, or by fierce loyalty, or both. I really do not see any other players who have shown true class...Quag could be included, perhaps. his passion and determination were magnificent, until he got crunched...sorenson could prove a true diamond in the rough.

We have lacked a true leader since Deschamps. Until we have one at the helm...a man capable of truly inspiring respect and feverish belief in the squad...we are going nowhere.

I think it's unrealistic to sign Van Gaal, I doubt our "project" is ambitious enough for any manager of quality. Look at Mancini, the noise was high but when they met and demanded top class players to come, the interest vanished. It's obvious we are not getting great players and will settle for people like Pirlo, so Van Gaal will not come for the exact same reason Mancini or anyone of quality won't come.
