Glad this thread exists...I have watched the show on and off so maybe someone could fill me in on the following:

I saw the episode when they captured the prisoner....
question 1. at the end he smiled (evil smile) at Said...any clue as to why.

I missed a few episodes then saw he was helping the bald guy (locke?) and they stated his story about the balloon and wife half checked out..balloon but no wife..only man.

question 2. in the episodes I missed what was the plot involving the prisoner?? Did he still act weird..did they torture him some more?

question 3..are they still pushing that code into the computer?

question 4...what happened to the that story with Sawyer and his arsenal of guns...??

question 5...What was the LINK between the doctor Jack and Maria Lucia (the cop)..did they ever saw HOW they knew each other??

question 6...DOCTOR (tall African fellow)..I followed the story of how he was from a drug ring...the story of the fallen plane with his brother but was HE on the actual flight??

question 7...what happened with the black guy (Walt) and his son...did he ever contact him again after the conversation on the computer?

Question 8...what about that missing reel DOCTOR OKO (whatever) found...they discovered it was more loose ends...but anythign after that...

thanks.....

1. He is one of the "others", the ballon story was fake,or rather a cover up

2.He always acts weird, they keep torturing him...but they are one step closer to the truth now

3.Though they missed it a couple of times, they still pushing it

4.He still has the guns hidden somewhere...

5.They met before the flight in the airoport, they flert a little, they had some drinks IIRC

6.He is a priest/drug dealer really, pretending,
he missed his brother plane small plane, he was in the big plane just like the rest...

7.IIRC no

8. ?

Yeah. I knew that Sun was pregnant about 2 minutes into the show. There's something obsessive about that island/TV show and kids.

Funny how it ended precisely as I would have ended it -- with the possible "Others" guy explaining exactly what he would do as one of them, and showing the search party splitting up into three directions while in a place none of them know and while they are there because of a suspicious character. The writers need to be more clever than that.

You asked for a twist and OMG what a twist we got!!!
Kind of dissapointing though, to discover propably the true nature of the series like that,
all the halucinations, the imaginary guy, the suicide thoughts, the panic attacks, the fear to get crazy are all real symtops of

... what a spoiler that would be...

probably the most important episode of the series,
time will tell, but you ve got to confess you didnt expect that!
the writers were really creative this time:D

1-Well he didn't really turn out who he claims to be.
2-He was interrogated by Ana Lucia, and drew a map for the location of the baloon he claimed he was on.
3-Yes they are.
4-Don't remeber.
5-Jack and Lucia met in the airport before the flight, they had drinks and chit-chatted for a while...when the plane fell Jack was among the main survivors, and Lucia was on the other side of the island.
6-Yes he was he was on the tail section with Lucia.
7-He got kidnapped at the end of series 1 of the raft that his dad built. He contacted his father via the PC in the hatch, but thats it. Shannon seemed to have hallucinations about him...not sure if it was real or just hallucinations.
8-Nope nothing....at least I don't recall anything.

That prisoner guy could have escaped when he had the chance with Locke and numbers countdown reached zero before he had to type in the numbers again. My guess is that his reason for staying is part of a confidence game with Locke.

But if there's one pattern here: a lot of dead end details that I don't suspect will ever be tied together, such as the polar bears.

    I think he's a spy...

Theory is that the island is part of a huge experiment...sociological/anthropolgical/etc

    I still say it's Purgatory :)

    I saw that...you may have a point...

Odd that Hurley wouldn't remember her, though....

    Could they be in Hell?

He did mentioned again that from the first moment he saw her she did remind smth to him.
The numbers are connected to him alone and are very important for the series:cool:

Can't be purgatory. Pope Benedict XVI is about to cash in its lease.

I'm going with the parallel I've stuck with since the beginning: it's Karma Island.

Though I do like the plausible explanation that everyone on the plane is already dead from the crash, which isn't incompatible with that.

As soon as "Ursus Maritus" was seen on the diagram, people searched for a translation and found something very interesting - it means polar bear. Right near the mention of "zoological research facility", we get the mention of polar bears. It seems that Dharma is using gene therapy and extreme climate change to achieve the "de-territorialization" of the polar bear. So this finally explains why there is a polar bear on the island, and how it can survive outside of its natural climate. One question remains though - for what purpose are they doing thing?

I didn't catch that episode, apparently. But that would make sense. Not that I give the writers any credit for making sense, but...

As for the question of what purpose: How about some grand plan like gene therapy to enable humans to successfully habitate on another planet?

Actually its not an episode, the previus one, the one you watched created these speculations (and many other things/episodes of course)
remember a strange diagram on the door wich trapped Locke's leg?
there was a moment after the countdown that the lights were of and on the door smth was written and become visible under ultraviolet light...

hmm how about a gene or other type of therapy to mentaly disturbed individuals? surely the army has to be involved with this to bring in the funds, but its more simple to be a Hurly's crazy dream...
