For me, life is a series of moments, each filled with its own poignant emotion. Its hard to decipher though what would be the most fulfilling path, given that there's a choice that has to be made for just about everything. We may make the choice in our best interests, but thats only based on us being biased towards ourselves. How that choice may eventually turn out, will only be seen in the chain of moments and emotions that it triggers thereon in.

Wasting time is part of living life. Wasting time is not part of living a fulfilling life.
What is fulfilling life? Who said that what you mean by filfilling is actually fulfilling?

hmm i like that definition. the whole idea of life being a series of events rather than one long event seems quuite appealing.

What is wasting time? We've all been blessed with a certain ability that is curtailed when not put to use, when we dont explore ourselves.

I think its because we're blessed with this intrinsic quality of wanting to do something with ourselves. Something to help expand the horizons of our mind. Which unfortunately cant be done if we're in not helping find a reason for our existence.

For me, the fact that we can even bother to ponder this question is a luxury much of the rest of the world does not have. So that, in itself, is a start.

Exactly, what is wasting time?

What do you define living life? What do you do when you're living life? Are there some moments that are radically more valuable than others? Do you feel bad about yourself for not doing something because you think you should be? What is it that you do and what is it you wish you were doing? Do you let people tell you what to do? Do you let people steer you in a certain direction or are you very focused on making every single decision yourself without being influenced by anyone? When do you feel really good about yourself?

Fairly broad subject, so take your pick. I'm most interested in what people do and how they feel when they say they're "living life" as opposed to "wasting time".

living life eee? probably not the right person to answer this question but since you asked. in my opinion living life is making the most of what you have and not constantly wanting to get more.

my idea of 'living life' is being content with what I have and take everything that comes my way in the positive way. Basically, trying to stay happy with everything. What is life without happiness?

And of course, travel as much as I can. I love travelling

my idea of 'living life' is trying to stay as positive as I can because thats when Im happiest, and what is life if Im not happy?
How do you "try to stay positive"? Are positive or do you try to tell yourself to be? Is it a forced emotion or is it genuine?

I think when you try and tell yourself to stay positive, it becomes genuine because once you succeed in actually staying positive after listening to yourself telling you to stay positive, you're actually staying positive.

    :D

And oh, I edited that post because I thought I put what I really meant in a better way in the edited version

It's a bit of a dilemma. People who are naturally positive really believe in that philosophy and they manage to stay happy. People who aren't positive don't believe in that method at all, because when they try to be positive, they get discouraged to quickly and it doesn't work for them.

    My impression anyway.

from the moment u are born, u start dying. thats what ur body is doing. so basically, ur trying to find ways to fill the time inbetween. so nothing really is a waste of time, its a less productive use of time. but then again, productivity is a difficult thing to measure. so i'd so there's no such thing as living life and wasting life, its just one big time pass.
Thats the most morbid and depressing thing i've ever heard. Thats for brightening my day!
