The media are suggesting that this takes pressure off of Houllier. It shouldn't.
Yeah, I kind of wish they hadn't done so well, so that Houllier would either get a kick up the ass or fired, preferably the latter.

He's had enough kicks up the ass Graham. I'm sick of Liverpool fans making excuses for him (not all of them, or even a majority, before I get scolded!) because he's just not done well enough. He's spent loads of money (£120m - that's the guts of €200m), and what has he to show for it? Gerrard and Owen, who cam out of the yout academy, Kewell who cost £5m, and Hyypia, who cost even less. That's £111m pissed down the swanny.

Houllier's first season was very good.he got the Fa cup and the uefa cup.but what liverpool fans want is the EPl.which liverpool havent won since the late 80's.but i dont see liverpool beating Manchester or Arsenal to the EPl.neither with Houllier nor with any other coach IMO.

It's not that I think he should be winning the league Fred, but you can see that while a guy like Wenger has taken a team with plenty of talent but limited finances and built it up, Houllier has tred water. He's blown a load of money and made no progress. Who's his great buy? Hyypia is the only one that comes to mind, because any fool could have told you Kewell was a great purchase. Wenger has bought players like Vieira and Henry, Pires and even Ljungberg was a discovery. Ferguson has bought players like Keane, van Nistelrooy, and Staam.

EDIT: Ridiculous spelling errors removed.

Houllier certainly is not the best talent-picker  it's what Mikhail just saud that gets me all pissed off-look at what Ferguson and Wenger have brought in, and look at what Houllier has brought in......makes you want to give Houllier the boot, that, and the fact that he hasn't built a real Liverpool team-they are merely a collection of players.

Well...Houllier must go .. No one can make more excuses for him...

Liverpool will do nothing as long as he's the coach

We want the EPL..We want a place in the CL...We want an excellent performance in the games...We want to score lots of goals...

Thommo is a good choice...But please don't say you would choose Thommo as our coach...he can be an assisant...but I don't see him as our coach...LIVERPOOL MUST GET A RESPECTED COACH THAT CAN BUILD A RESPECTFUL TEAM

I think Phil Thompson should stay on as caretaker manager until they can secure Martin O'Neill's signature :extatic:

I think Liverpool would struggle to get O'Neill's signature now. Short of making the CL - which would save Houllier's bacon anyway.

I doubt that with this CLOWN we could take the 4th place and qualify to the CL
