well, it isn't really against anyone in particular-any of their remaining games could be called their game in hand. here are the remaining fixtures for each club.

Liverpool:
at Crystal Palace
Middlesborough
at Arsenal
Aston Villa

Everton:
Birmingham
at Fulham
Newcastle
at Arsenal
at Bolton

for us to catch them, they must drop at least six points. two losses, three draws, assuming we remain perfect. we will probably lose to Arsenal, so they realistically will have to drop 9 points out of 15 for us to catch them. so it's not looking good at all. fortunately they also face Arsenal, and Bolton who could face a must win game in order to get in to Europe
