Mohamed Sissoko has explained that he rejected the chance to join Juventus in the summer as he believes Liverpool are "a much bigger club".

The midfielder is no longer certain of a place in Rafa Benitez's first choice team, but nonetheless the 22-year-old insists he is happy to be at Liverpool and he wants to stay with the club for as long as possible.

It is claimed that Juventus offered £10m for the Malian, who joined Liverpool from Valencia for £5m two years ago.

"I believed that Liverpool are a much bigger club than Juventus and decided not to speak to them any longer," he told the Daily Star Sunday.

he seems VERY FRUSTRATED FELLOW

I don't get this, why does everyone get out of shape about this? So what if he said it? I mean it's not like he said something outrageous at the end of the day. Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world, won the most trophies in England, just like we did in Italy, so if someone thinks they're bigger it's their opinion. People have their own preferences FFS.

Dont know why this comment deserves a thread of its own. If that's how he feels, it's fine. We dont need to dignify his thoughts with a response. We know who we are. :)

oh come on.. Liverpool at 80's where the shit!
And in the 70's.

The two teams are of similar stature within the game and so it is not outrageous to suggest Liverpool are bigger in his opinion. I of course disagree.
