This is a classic Marotta negotiating situation. He's like a shark who smells blood. Discounted striker? Boom he's on the next plane.

This negotiation will be just like all the rest. Marotta will listen as Lyon says there are 10 teams lined up waiting to pay for LL. He will just keep his wry smile until the days pass and he keeps gaining leverage. Lyon knows they should probably sell LL but want to maximize obviously. Days will pass and those teams will dwindle to 5 then to 3 then to just 1, us.

And Marotta will still be there smiling. He will not overpay. Everyone knows this. The decision is all in Lyon's hands. Either they will give in to some bullshit deal or they'll keep him.

But this will be resolved at the last minute because as time passes our leverage increases and that's the way Marotta works.

And he'll sign Borriello on the last day.

I think 10m is the aim of Marotta.
Well I think that's fair.

If Lyon need to sell, they can't go asking a lot - particularly if there isn't a big queue of teams desperate to sign him.

He's not that young and, I gather, hasn't been in great form for a while.

Still, he is a good player, so Juve can't expect to get him too cheap.

The only thing agains that is Aulas will know Juve are very keen to sign another forward this month.

The pressure on Marotta to get someone also increases as the month drags on, so Lyon will cling on to that to avoid the price going too low.

Marotta always has Borriello in the backburner. Even Aulas should know that :p
