Italy coach Marcello Lippi thinks Inter are the favorites for the Scudetto because of Jose Mourinho's arrival.

If Marcello Lippi's predictions would be correct, in around ten months we will be commenting on Inter's 4th consecutive Scudetto victory. According to the Italian national team coach the Nerazzurri are the favorites for the title ahead of the new season.

"I like Mourinho very much," he said, "for this reason I think Inter are the favorites to win the Scudetto. Mourinho is a tough guy, but when so many players speak positively about a coach, it means he has done well."

Looking back on Euro 2008, the World Cup winner gave his view on who was the best player of the tournament: "Spain midfielder Marcos Senna was the most important player for the team's victory."

Talking about the challenges ahead of the road towards the 2010 World Cup, Lippi said: "I will build a winning group which will not be much different to the one seen at the Euros. We need intelligent lads with unity and willingness to make sacrifices for one another: these were the qualities which allowed us to triumph at the World Cup."

I hate to say that they would be favorites, but I true believe that they are.

If that happens "God forbid" the least we could do is make sure we defeat them in the home and away games of the season..

How could they not be favorites? They have the streak, the current team, and they're spending like mad. Nobody in Italy is coming close to that.

I think he's talking about consecutive Scudettos.

And Inter are obvious favourites. With Juve and Milan in transition,Roma unpredictable,Fiorentina developing..it's only Inter who have the squad, the coach, and the refrees to win the league. Not just this season, but perhaps the next 2-3 seasons too.

Let's hope so, it would be great if they would loose the scudetto thanks to 2 defeats against us.
To be honest, I wouldn't even mind it if it would be Roma or Milan that would win SerieA if it wouldn't be us.

Lippi my well turn out to be right: one thing for sure though, if a team is to beat Inter to the title it won't be Juve the way things are looking.

    Maybe Roma...

Since we relegated, there never was a doubt Inter wouldnt win any of those,
if not us who is there to stop them?
We are still a mere shadow of our former selves and they way our noob managers are forming up our team and making all those terrible decisions one after the other,
it seems likely, that nothing will change for the next 4-5 years.
I was surprised to see Milan being so weak though, they are they only ones who could stop Inter, it seems that the reports saying Berlu made great sacrifices to keep them i serie A, were true,
they seem to face, even more problems than us and thats very very strange.
With or without Mourinho and the world class players Inter bought, they would have won the title again, since none of the other competitors strengthened themselves enough to threaten Inter.
With Mourinho and those players, Inter are building an overkill, they are building a wall in the gap between them and the rest of the high fly teams, if we dont see a spectacular chance in invests or managers/owners
and if Inter will keep their balance, i see no one threating them in the next decade...

But because Inter is Inter, they are most probably to unbalance their team by themselves, they will fail in Europe again because they have no power there,
even with the prestige of the chosen one!
The pressure of their fans will get to them, this might unbalance their domestic campaign, the owner will be happy to spend a few more millions for transfers,
just to spell his dirty oil money as always, for years and years he is looking for an excuse to spend them.
Despite Inter having all this superiority in Italy, they will spend big anyways,
some players will be blamed, some will feel threatened and insulted because they bought new expensive replacements, which means they are not considered worthy of their spot, the players will blame each other and the coach, the coach will blame the players, and if Milan or Roma are ready,
they might step in that crisis moment and surprise Inter, claiming the title for themselves!
