I used to have a soft spot for PSG from around 1993 to 2003 in the Rai to Ronaldinho era. Players like Lama, Okocha, Djorkaeff, Ngotty, many interesting players. Now they're obviously disgusting.

If I had to pick a French team I suppose it would be something Juve-linked like Saint Etienne. I would have picked Strasbourg but it's just another franchise club these days.

same here. during the 90s we used to visit paris fairly regularly, psg was the obvious team to root for. i remember we saw weah during a training, i had no idea who he was until he signed for milan lol

John Textor is a fucking idiot. He makes our senior manglement look competent. At one point he wanted to transfer funds from Botafogo (another club he owns, in Brazil) directly to Lyon in order to cover the debts. This was obviously denied by the authorities.

btw debt in itself isn't against the rules, at least in italy. there's no debt ceiling. inda still violated plenty of financial rules, especially those about ownership and transparency. they technically went bankrupt before the oaktree takeover, they breached the sustainability rules, the company that was supposed to provide business continuity for them and was selected by their holding company failed to file financial reports for years (etc), so there would be grounds to relegate them and it could happen if the federation wasn't run by interisti
