The red is an infraction, you get to collect points with it. Once you get 10 points you get an automatic ban for 21 days. The warning is similar but has zero points.

It's what you're supposed to give for first time/minor infractions. It's a warning, counts no points toward your ban count. Reds are mostly given by hardon Mods that are new to the game.
