Stephan Lichtsteiner scored Juve’s first goal of the season in the team’s resounding 4-1 win over Parma. And the full-back also found the target in the Bianconeri’s final game of the first half of the campaign, planting a header past Consigli following Pirlo’s magnificent pass.

The Swiss defender began by paying tribute to the quality of the two assists which allowed Juventus to open up a four-point lead at the top of the table.

“They were both great passes and I truly need to thank Andrea,” commented the 28-year-old. “Being winter champions doesn’t count for much, for us it’s important to be first. Today it was great to win in this way, with a great performance, creating many opportunities. We didn’t play badly last Sunday, but we could have wrapped the game up in the first half, and also could have won right until the end. Today we were more aggressive and we dealt well with gaining possession of the ball.”

Lichtsteiner concluded by insisting that the team will continue to keep their feet on the ground: “Juventus must always play for the Scudetto. We’re an extremely strong side and everything’s possible. However, we’re not thinking about the title, but winning all our games, then we’ll see what will happen.”
