sure but that doesnt mean he should be getting a five year deal. if he plays until 38 awesome but past a certain point his condition should be assessed on a seasonal basis.

maybe you risk losing him but its not as if we dont have options too as the club signed 3 young CBs just last summer.

i wonder if handing him this contract is related to chiellinis injury. maybe the board are concerned with chiellini long term and want to ensure at least one of the experienced CBs will be around.
