I have no clue why you put those two in the same sentence. Pirlo is the one who creates almost every attack while Bonucci on the other hand is the one that carries the ball to the middle/Pirlo. His long balls are not being used always, you know, you can't say he's the regista of our team. In most of the occasions it's him passing to ball to either Pirlo or Marchisio who do the things. Such things only describe how useless he actually is, if you think that of his role. Babysitting Chiellini and Barzagli, and not even being good at it.

Now we don't have Krasic, Elia, Pepe. Possibly even Vucinic at this point. So no, we don't have wingers in this squad... it's only Mirko who's capable of holding the left side. On the right side there's no one who can play there. It's only Giovinco who would rotate. We don't have even two capable players to play with such formation and it's required to have at least four. Do we have wingers? No we don't.

In my post I even described his job, so again, it's you who didn't read. And yet again -- him being useful only in such formation is laughable. That pretty much means no team who plays 4 man defense would ever plan to buy him (even Klin said he's not good at defending), which means he's rather useless.
Italy? Like this current Italy has great defenders lol. I wonder if he could play next to Maldini and Nesta. Now his competition is Astori, Ranocchia, Criscito, Abate and others. The same Italy who failed to quality from groups not so long ago.

We have heard of modern full backs being unable to defend properly, because of how much that position contributes offensively to games now but I can't take a Centre back/sweeper being unable to defend at all. He turns is back on the ball every time someone takes a shot as he is scared of the ball and if anyone runs at him you never fancy him to make a challenge and win the ball.
Like Dule has stated, Bonucci is a sweeper there to help out Barzagli and Chiellini and he is the last man. What he does too often is he runs out of the defence and loses possession. Now tell me something, if you are suppoed to be the last man , wtf are you doing running out of defence and losing possesion?
Bonucci has one good attribute and it doesnt even expresss his defenive abilities: his passing. While his passing is good, it isnt amazing that it would sffect our game play if he wasnt playing.
What excuse does Bonucci have for being such a poor defended and continously having brain farts is beyond me when he has two amazing cbs next to him. If there was a player that I felt was hindering us from deploying another formation or preforming better than it is for sure Bonucci.
Sell him, premanetly bench him, or whatever it takes to switch to switch to a 4-3-3
