It was because of him that we conceded the first goal and almost get disqualified,
but he focused in the second half and he was quite solid then, he even made a succesful tackle and two blocks!
This is promising for the future, but the fact remains, that he still is a liabilty in competitive games and esp with the absence of Chiellini to cover up for his mess.
We have sacrificed a lot to let him develop though and hopefully, we will soon starting to benefit from it.

But to avoid other incidents like the WC final, we should not trust him for the derbies, a veteran like Lucio, just for those derbies would be great (looking at Boscchetti)

Excellent and spot on analysis once again.

10/10 post will save on USB and read again in future.

He needs to at least learn how to slow a guy down 1 on 1. He can't just literally get walked around like that. Put your hands on the guy or jockey or something.

His anticipation was impressive though.

I still contend that all his positive attributes are attributes that allow him to excel only on a great team like ours. Things like calm ball playing, anticipation, aerial ability on rushed long balls. He has all those things. He struggles when we are not imposing our will on our opponent. When he has to go in on 1 on 1 challenges or use deft tactical awareness because the opponent is buzzing around our box, marking runs, etc.

There are few players that can help us like he can when we are going good, I admit. But when we are not dominant, I'm nervous with him. Pirlo didn't start the game so their CF was pressuring Bonucci instead of Marrone. Look at the errors at the start of the match. Terrible decisions when under pressure.

Agree with most of that, but he's still learning and still young enough to perfect those parts of his game. I think Bonucci has showed big improvements every season with us so far, so his 1v1 defending and decision making when under pressure will be tested now, he'll probably make mistakes, but come back even better next season. He's a gem.

He has become less rash than seasons before. Still, the occasional "what were you thinking" moment happens, regardless he has gotten much better. Worth the investment and time. Better than Rannocchia.

Pretty much summed Bonucci.

Solid overall "player" but a poor defender.

BonBon interview:

- Player I would have trouble marking? Drogba

- Gabbiadini is another great forward. Young, moves great and doesn't leave you a centimetre.

- Immobile surprised me. He's got important technical attributes, hungry and runs from start to finish.

- Lisandro is a great forward, if he comes here he'd complete our attack. Would help us a lot.

- Llorente, great player. Big guy but strong technically. Could do well with us.

- Drogba is one of the best forwards in the world. Complete, strong, technical...
