Nine points from a total of 22: this is how Lazio have fared away from home so far this season, where they have scored 7 of their 19 goals overall, conceding 10 from a total of 17. The Biancocelesti are yet to draw away from Rome, winning 3 and losing the same number.
Their first away match was in Bergamo where Lazio beat Atalanta thanks a goal from Hernanes after 17 minutes. Petkovic's side managed a second victory on the road over Chievo, running riot in Verona. It finished 3-1 with Hernanes scoring from outside the box on 5 minutes before Klose made it 2 just before the break. Hernanes scored his team's third in the second half before Pellissier bagged a consolation goal from the spot.
Lazio suffered their first defeat away from the Olimpico in Naples. Cavani hit a hat-trick as Napoli cruised to a 3-0 win at the San Paolo. The Partenopei created 10 clear-cut chances and missed a penalty, so the scoreline could have been heavier still. Lazio got back on track in Pescara though, leading 3-0 at the break thanks to the ever-reliable duo of Hernanes and Klose – the latter with a brace.
Their two most recent outings on the road have been distinctly disappointing though. Their 2-0 defeat in Florence saw them carelessly
concede at the end of each half. First Ljajic put La Viola ahead before Toni secured the points in the last minute. Worse was to come at Catania. The hosts raced into a 3-goal lead within half an hour and the match was effectively over.
Lazio come into the game fresh off the back of a 3-2 derby win. It was a deserved victory as the Biancocelesti created twice as many chances as Zeman's men.
