Because they use steam. Steam, as you probably know, is a gas, not a liquid (water in this case) and hence it's called dry cleaning.

Isn't that steam cleaning?

I thought in dry-cleaning they dunk the stuff in cleaning solution but the process doesn't involve water

b/c steam is used to iron some clothes that can't be ironed with a regular iron ........ i used to work at a bridal shop and i had to steam dresses all the time IT DOESN'T MAKE THEM CLEANER

actually i think they do use steam to clean things, but yes it's used to iron the trickier of garments
