Paul Pogba’s added-time header against Bologna maintained the Bianconeri’s scintillating start to the 2012/13 Serie A campaign, extending their lead at the top of the championship to four points.
But it was no less than Juventus warranted after a dominant display which called the opposition goalkeeper into action on several occasions.
An analysis of the statistics reveals that Rossoblu shot stopper Agliardi – last night’s man of the match – was subjected to 20 efforts on goal, 12 of which were on target.
Quagliarella led the way with six attempts, ahead of Giaccherini and Pogba with three apiece. Bologna midfielder Kone also tried his luck twice but saw both attempts land wide of the target.
Aside from Bologna’s 71st minute strike – an unstoppable effort from Taider and their only attempt on target throughout – Gigi Buffon remained untroubled for the entire evening.
But Conte’s men also enjoyed the upper hand in practically every other aspect. They dominated possession with 55% of the play, completed 69.2% of their attempted passes and won ten corners compared to Bologna’s five.
