That is the kind of formation I thought. Only problem is that, IMO, Zanetti isnt probably good enough to assume the defensive responsibility by himself. But I do think players like Makoun is more than capable of being that man sitting just in front of defence and let things flow.

Makoun; Camo, Mavuba; Nedved is another possibility IMO.

I agree Gerard is superior to Lamps in every depart. A truly great midfielder IMO. But only in Tuttosport we would get him.


I am convinced sportingwise, Lampard is going to have a hard time adjusting in Serie A. Lampard's game is all about being box to box, and getting those goals. I just can't see Italian managers giving him that freedom to roam about. But I guess, take away sporting matters, Lampard signing gives a legitimacy to our time, and the air of desire and purpose within the squad. I don't think it is end of the world, finacially or sporting wise, if we sign Lampard. But I feel there are younger better prospects around.

in fact, i think he'll be quite good in serie a becuz italian defenders tend to be deep down.
lampard can shoot very well, and this year we saw many many goals being scored from like 25-35 meters in seria a.

I can't believe Im doubting Lampard, Im actually quite fond of him since his westham days. Im just not convinced he should be the priority target to fill the AMC position.

i disagree, the english league is much faster at closing down opponents than the italian league - with the exception of inter, milan and roma, this is why we have struggled against english opposition so lamps would enjoy the slower paced game, as mentioned earlier italian defences tend to stand off from a distance rather than close down, so it encourages shooting from distance (this is why nedved has been particularly successful) and we have seen lots of goals from far out in serie a this year

Lamps is two things; crosses and shots. His technique is just avarage, doesn't run much and he has like none defensie skills. I'd rather we buy a two way midfielder then Lamps who we need to field two DM:s to make him work.

To be honest, I'm not sure about Zanetti. He has warmed the bench for a long time with Inter besides being an injury prone. But maybe he's revived his best form this campaign, still he missed lots of matches due to injuries though. Anyways, I prefer landing another defensive midfielder like Gilberto Silva for such a mission.

As for Mavuba and Makoun, I haven't watched them a lot especially the latter, but the vast majority of the Juventini here rate Mavuba high.

True that but when Chelsea bought Lampard he wasn't better than Bodmer now. So i think that he could do for us the same what Lapm's do for Chelsea. Plus it's more valuable when u sign some prospect and create a star from him instead of sign some star player.

Lampard was younger then Bodmer,
And I think that playing for West Ham (just like lampard did) as a promissing star is much better than playing for Lille OSC as a potential good player

I think that France is the best place for one player to grow and develop into potential star. It's true that Chelsea signed Lapard younger. We should not forget that French players adapt very well in Italy and we can't say the same for the english.
