Lampard open to Juve offer

Juventus are unsure of their next Coach, but the club continues its transfer strategy as Frank Lampard breaks off from Chelsea.

The Bianconeri return to Serie A next season after the Calciopoli scandal and although Didier Deschamps resigned late last night, director of sport Alessio Secco maintains the same approach to reconstructing the squad.

Juve have made no secret of their respect and admiration for Lampard, but the 'News of the World’ claims that this could finally turn into a firm bid.

Contract renegotiations with Chelsea have hit so many problems that they have collapsed completely, leaving the England international open for a summer switch abroad.

As he has served more than three years under his existing contract and is over the age of 28, a new FIFA ruling means he could even buy himself out of the deal for just £9m.

A Stamford Bridge insider told the 'News of the World’ that chances of reconciliation are “highly unlikely. This looks like the end of the road for Frank and Chelsea.”

Juventus face competition for his signature from Barcelona, Real Madrid and possibly Inter.

more rumors

Lampard's ongoing contract dispute with the Stamford Bridge bosses is no secret, and rumours of a move, particularly to Barcelona, have long been doing the rounds.

The News of the World quote a 'club insider' as saying that an agreement with the Blues is "highly unlikely."

"This looks like the end of the road for Frank and Chelsea," the insider went on to say.

Barcelona seem to be the favourites for the midfielder, but the Catalans are unwilling to make a concrete move until the La Liga season concludes in three weeks' time.

The report suggests that Juventus are supposedly set to make the most of that with an official offer in the coming days, particularly as the end of the Serie A season sends the transfer market into overdrive.

The Turin giants are aggressively chasing quality midfielders as they prepare for their return to the top flight.

A new FIFA clause allows Lampard to buy out the rest of his Chelsea contract, meaning that Juve could land him for a bargain price. However, any move is almost certainly going to be made only after they appoint their new coach!

i hate chelsea and so any move that helps us and weakens them i love. lampard is definetly a world class player and he spent a while at chelsea so if he comes to juve i think he wont being leaving anytime soon

Lampard is a great attacking midfielder, it would be great to land him, and considering Chelsea are abondunt in that area, they might be willing to release one of them, although I doubt Lampard would be the guy.

Anyways, I'd welcome lampard at Juve, he's got a nedved-like work ethic

JUVE LEAD HUNT FOR LAMPARD

Frank Lampard joins the England squad today with his Chelsea future under a cloud.

Italian giants Juventus are leading the chase for Lampard after his contract negotiations with Chelsea reached deadlock.

The England midfielder can leave Stamford Bridge this summer for a cut-price £9million under new FIFA rules.

Lampard and his advisers want parity with Chelsea's top earners Michael Ballack and Andriy Shevchenko, who are on £121,000 per week.

Blues lynchpin Lampard, who is on £95,000 per week, made it clear after the FA Cup Final win over Manchester United that he wants to pledge the rest of his career to Chelsea - but the club are refusing to increase their offer.

That has alerted Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid although Juventus have made discreet enquiries after identifying Lampard as their main transfer target as they prepare to return to Serie A.

And the Italians would pay Lampard what he wants.

Owner Roman Abramovich is refusing to allow anyone to go over the £6.3m-a-year deals for Ballack and Shevchenko but Chelsea are still hoping to finalise a deal.

The Blues are braced for several top clubs to move in for Lampard because he can go on the cheap and that gives him a strong bargaining point

Abramovich is an idiot, if he had any brains he'd give Terry and Lampard those contracts they want and sell Sheva and Ballack. 2 worst acquisitions in history.

That said, I'd welcome Lamps in a heartbeat, I just don't know how he'd fit in the surroundings though..
