I hear this alot:
I dont understand how a player can be "wasted" if he plays good in that position. He played majority of his time at CM i know (and played well), but playing well in a "foreign" position is evidence that he is a good player - and a good player should play good at every position his team needs him and Asa has done that. My personal subjective opinion is similar to yours - i too want Asa at CM sometimes (5th choice), but my objective thinking is that he is the best LB we've got and therefore should play at LB. And think about this: when all of our CM's are healthy, who is Asa better than (to start games)? Probably just Pereyra (and Padoin and Romulo offcouse). When injuries come and you have to rotate the squad Asa can definitely play Vidals or Pogbas role and let Evra, Caceres or Padoin start at LB. Unfortunately we havent been able to see 100% what Max thinks his playing position is, cause he has played only 9 apps - 7 of those were at LB/WBL. To sum up my objective! opinion: i think we will not buy a LB as long as Evra is here. Our team needs help elsewhere at the moment. But i do think that Paratici&Co. have scouted plenty of LBs and have a general idea who to pursue, when we need to buy a LB.
