Yeah, seems an odd one. I didn't see the game but I can see this potential problem there may be trying to fit too many good players into a system.

Yeah he played there in the first half and moved to midfield position in the second..I personally dont feel he's a good fit at LWB.He's being wasted there.
He is not that bad , he is an intelligent player , but i agree that it is only for emergency cases

I personally feel Asamoah is a bit too 'indirect' and doesnt possess the ideal characteristics for a WB.Pretty solid defensively though but i'd like someone who can push forward at will, even PDC would get my nod over Asamoah at WB simply because he is very good crosser..Still maintaining hope that we eventually sign Armero.

So does Conte actually intend to play him as a wingback? Why didn't he just buy a left wingback if that were the case?

No he isn't, and he's a very good midfielder too, so it really would be a waste.

Is Conte content with De Ceglie, an out of position Asamoah and the extremely average Esti as the options for left wingback?

Esti plays for Sampdoria now but even he was a much better wingback than Asamoah could be. But we seem to still have Ziegler so maybe he'll be backup together with De Ceglie? Pepe could be used too if we had to I guess.

But yeah, that's the thing about having so many good CMs. Maybe he's just trying to get him used to the team before the actual season begins. I'm sure there'll be plenty of rotation for everyone.

Oh really? has Esti moved permanently or just loaned out?

I thought he was extremely average to be honest, but it seemed like Conte liked him. What happened there?

and ya, i'm sure you'd need Asamoah as a CM, with the CL this season, Marchisio and Vidal can't play every game.

He was on loan. We didn't buy him. Now he's at Samp. Probably on loan again but I'm not sure.

He showed some good skill at times, and always gave it his all. The one thing he was lacking was good decision making and sometimes he would rush his actions too much.

He was a hard worker that ran up and down that left flank tirelessly, i'll give you that. His decision making was indeed poor, and i didn't think too highly of his crossing ability either to be honest.
